“notifications” – Used to send desktop notifications. For example when a new message arrives or the App is updated.

“contextMenus” – Allows adding more settings when you right-click the App icon in the browser toolbar and in the browser context menu.

“webNavigation” – The extension uses iframes to allow fast switch between the social media sites. webNavigation is used to control those iframes and know the timing to insert css or js into the iframe.

“storage” – Used to save settings on your local computer.

“scripting” – Used to be able to insert JS or CSS on the required host/domains: the styles of the hub menus, messages and mini tutorial, and the Theme – Skin Color filters over the whole window.

“system.display” – Used to detect the display size and position the Extension window (the hub window and the chats that open in a window of their own).

“unlimitedStorage” – Storage is limited to 5MB of data that may not be enough to store all configs.

“host_permissions” – Permission to access some hosts/domains that we must modify in order to provide the desired functionality detailed above. It also allows you to share content (links or text) from other pages directly inside the App and send it as a SMS/Android message to a friend for example. Also used to allow intercommunication with other WWEvents Apps (i.e. Emojis).

“activeTab” – Permission to access the window where the Extension is running and that is shown to the user, for example to take a screenshot of it.

“all_urls” – Permission required for users to be able to take screenshots of the current window – captureVisibleTab.

“declarativeNetRequest” – Used to change the response headers of the chat sites (for example x-frame-options) so that they can open right inside the hub. Only impacts the Extension Window.

“declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess” – Used to get the iframe version of the websites. Only impacts the Extension Window.

“declarativeNetRequestFeedback” – Used to get the iframe version of the website by changing the iframe requests.

“browsingData” – Used to remove serviceWorkers on some websites in order for the MV3 extension to run properly.

“alarms” – Used to update the App icon badge every minute with your missed notifications.
