“notifications” – Used to send desktop notifications. For example when a new message arrives or the App is updated.

“contextMenus” – Allows adding more settings when you right-click the App icon in the browser toolbar and in the browser context menu: right-click › PiP – Picture in Picture Plus › Open PiP – Picture in Picture Plus, Picture-in-Picture with subtitles and Picture-in-Picture a part of the page.

“storage” – Used to save settings on your local computer.

“scripting” – Used to be able to insert JS or CSS on the required host/domains: the script that finds the right video on the page and puts it in Picture-in-Picture (or the site’s player with its subtitles, or a part of the page).

“system.display” – Used to detect the display size and position the Extension window (for example the help window when no video is found) in the middle of the screen.

“unlimitedStorage” – Storage is limited to 5MB of data that may not be enough to store all configs.

“host_permissions” – Permission to access the hosts/domains where you want to use Picture-in-Picture (Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Prime Video, YouTube and any other website), in order to provide the functionality detailed above. It also allows you to share content (links or text) from other pages directly inside the App. Also used to allow intercommunication with other WWEvents Apps (i.e. Emoji Keyboard).

“activeTab” – Permission to access the tab that is shown to the user when you click the App icon, press Alt + I or use the right-click menu, so that its video (or a part of the page) can float in Picture-in-Picture.

“tabs” – Permission required to query all the active tabs in order to put the Picture in Picture on the requested tab.

“all_urls” – We cannot predict ahead of time which videos deployed on hosts/domains the user wants to PiP. The extension can PiP any Html5 video on any Webpage, and also the site’s player with its subtitles or any part of the page.
