Permissions

Browser Extension 💻 Win/Mac/Linux
  • “notifications” – Used to send desktop notifications. For example on a price fluctuation alert or when the App is updated.
  • “contextMenus” – Allows adding more settings when you right-click the App icon in the browser toolbar and in the browser context menu.
  • “storage” – Used to save settings on your local computer.
  • “system.display” – Used to detect the display size and position the Extension window (for example “Open panel in new window” from the right-click menu).
  • “unlimitedStorage” – Storage is limited to 5MB of data that may not be enough to store all configs.
  • “host_permissions” – Permission to access the hosts/domains that provide the price, the charts and the crypto news, so that the badge on the toolbar icon, the Alerts and the news are always up to date. Also used to show the Tips – Tricks – News and to allow intercommunication with other WWEvents Apps (i.e. Emojis).
  • “activeTab” – Permission to access the window where the Extension is running and that is shown to the user, only when you click the App icon or use its right-click menu (for example “Open Bitcoin Crypto News”).
  • “alarms” – Used to refresh the price on the toolbar badge and to check your price Alerts in the background, at regular intervals.
  • “all_urls” – We cannot predict ahead of time which hosts/domains serve the prices, the charts and the news articles, so this permission lets the App reach them to provide the Ticker, the Trends charts, the Technical Analysis chart and the crypto news. Also used to allow intercommunication with other WWEvents Apps (i.e. Emojis).
